The safety of New Zealand’s roading system is more important than ever before and is at the forefront of plans and strategies for Government and Councils. PTSL considers that road safety is a critical part of all our projects so that solutions achieve outcomes where our roads are increasingly free from deaths and serious injuries.
Our experience includes detailed crash analysis to understand patterns of crashes and underlying causes of those crashes so that we can identify appropriate solutions. In doing so, we incorporate the principles of the Safety System into our projects and consider solutions that are consistent with it. We use the Safe System Assessment Framework to assist in guiding option selection so that we consider the effects of solutions on the range of crash types and vulnerable road users.
